This is NOT an EU
proposal, nor a consultation; it WILL be LAW, in five weeks' time!
The EU is introducing law to make
vehicle modifications illegal without official approval
This has HUGE implications for any vehicle owner who does their own maintenance,
or people like me, who drive older 'utility' vehicles like Land Rovers:
Here's a report on it, explaining in simple terms what they intend:
<http://www.the-ace.org.uk/armageddon/>
And here's the EU document itself:
<http://ec.europa.eu/transport/doc/roadworthiness-package/com%282012%29380.pdf>

THE EU
"CONSULTATION" HAS ALREADY HAPPENED.
This has been unreported in the Main Stream Media. I don't wonder why!
This is NOT an EU proposal, nor a consultation, it WILL be LAW, in five weeks' time, unless someone acts. An objection in the European Parliament is (I think) the only way it can be stopped.
As an example, this will put my Land Rover Defender off the road, permanently, because it had an engine change involving small chassis modifications done by the garage. The vehicle is 22 years old and sailed through its MOT a fortnight ago (no warnings nor work required).
